Kent: So, there was this really scary incident where a baby girl got attacked by a dog. It happened in Hawkinge, near Folkestone. The poor little one is just eight months old.
Police got the call around 2:23 PM on Wednesday. They rushed to Siskin Close after hearing about the dog bite. Turns out, the dog was believed to be an XL bully, which is a banned breed.
Ambulance crews were quick to respond, and they airlifted the baby to a hospital in London. Sadly, she’s in serious condition right now, which is just heartbreaking.
As for the dog, it was seized and destroyed. There were also two people arrested—a young man, just 18, and a 76-year-old woman. They’re in custody for having a dog that was dangerously out of control.
Police are still looking into what happened and are keeping a presence in the area to reassure everyone. It’s a tough situation for the community.
Just a heads up, since February 1, owning an XL bully in England and Wales without a special exemption has been illegal. If you do have one, there are strict rules like neutering, microchipping, and keeping it muzzled in public.
