Grantham: It’s such a sad story. A seven-month-old baby lost his life after a car accident on the A1. The police are looking into whether icy roads played a part in this tragedy.
They got the call late Thursday night when a yellow Honda Jazz veered off the road and hit a tree. The baby was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away early Friday morning. A woman in the car also got hurt pretty badly.
Right now, the southbound lane is closed while they investigate. There were two other people in the car, but thankfully, they didn’t suffer serious injuries.
The police are keeping an open mind about what caused the crash, but they think the icy conditions might have something to do with it. It’s just heartbreaking for the family, and they’re getting support from specially-trained officers.
A local MP, Alicia Kearns, expressed her sorrow, calling the situation “heart-breaking” and sending her thoughts to the family during this tough time.
Lincolnshire Police are asking anyone who was driving in the area around that time to come forward with any information they might have.
It’s just a reminder of how quickly things can change, and our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
