British Columbia: This weekend, the West Coast is gearing up for some wild weather. After some intense winds that caused ferry cancellations and power outages, things are about to get wet and snowy again.
So, if you’re planning to head out, keep an eye on the weather. The next storm is rolling in, bringing rain, mountain snow, and some gusty winds that could mess with ferry schedules.
Friday evening is when the rain will really start to hit, especially in Metro Vancouver. Expect around 30-50 mm of rain, with Abbotsford possibly seeing the highest amounts. Victoria might get lucky with less than 20 mm due to the rain-shadow effect.
For those traveling through the mountains, be prepared for 30-50 cm of snow at the Allison Pass and Coquihalla Pass. This could lead to significant delays and even road closures, so plan accordingly.
While the winds aren’t the main concern this time, you might still feel some gusts of 40-60 km/h, especially around the Georgia Strait. This could affect ferry services later on Saturday, so keep that in mind.
Stay safe out there and check the weather updates before you hit the road!
