Los Angeles: So, here’s the scoop. British Columbia’s forests minister, Ravi Parmar, announced that a crew from their wildfire service headed to California on Saturday. They’re going to help tackle those wildfires that are causing chaos in the L.A. area.
Parmar shared a video on social media, letting everyone know that the B.C. Wildfire Service crew was on their way and should arrive in Los Angeles around 4 p.m. Pacific time. Pretty cool, right?
This whole thing started when Premier David Eby promised to send help after California’s Forestry and Fire Protection Department made a request. Eby also mentioned that they’d be sending ground crews as part of a national effort to fight the flames.
Now, the B.C. Wildfire Service hasn’t confirmed if the crew has landed yet, and we’re still in the dark about how many firefighters made the trip. But it’s a big deal.
Even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got in on the action, sharing a video of a Canadian aerial firefighting plane getting ready to help out. He emphasized that Canada is always ready to lend a hand to our American friends.
Sadly, since the fires kicked off, at least 11 people have lost their lives, and many neighborhoods have been completely destroyed. It’s a tough situation out there.
