Exmouth: Sascha Unger and his wife had big dreams of traveling Australia with their kids in a caravan. But when those plans didn’t pan out, they decided to rent it out. They had no idea how popular it would become.

What started as a backup plan turned into a thriving business. Their service, Unplug Rentals, lets folks camp at some of Western Australia’s best spots without the usual stress of towing and setting up.

Sascha describes it as a “glamping” experience. They deliver the caravan, set it up, and even clean it afterward. It’s been a hit for the past seven years.

Located in Exmouth, a beautiful resort town, they cater to visitors heading to Ningaloo Reef and Cape Range National Park. Customers just book their campsite, and Sascha handles the rest.

Each caravan comes fully equipped with everything you need—linens, towels, kitchen gear, and even outdoor furniture. It’s like having a cozy little home wherever you go.

For those who’ve never camped before, these popular spots can feel overwhelming. Sascha’s service makes it easy for anyone to enjoy the great outdoors.

They have four caravans available, and business has been booming. Since launching in 2017, they’ve seen a huge increase in demand, especially after the pandemic.

Last year, Australians took a whopping 15.3 million caravan trips, and the trend is only growing. Sascha’s business has been fully booked since borders reopened, and he’s loving every minute of it.

Caravan ownership has also surged, with many Aussies choosing to travel full-time. Sascha’s rentals start at $183 a night, with a minimum stay of four nights. It’s a great way to explore the stunning region.

Initially, Sascha offered a self-tow option, but it didn’t attract much interest. Now, most of his customers are families and young people eager to try camping without the hassle.

Interestingly, he’s noticed a rise in younger campers, including fresh graduates and young families. The Caravan Industry Association of Australia has pointed out that younger travelers are definitely on the rise.

So, if you’re looking for a fun way to experience the outdoors without the stress, Sascha’s got you covered!
