Hobart: So, there was this wild scene on a flight from Hobart to Sydney. An Aussie couple got kicked off the plane after causing a ruckus. Apparently, they were pretty drunk and had brought their own booze on board.

The trouble started when the woman allegedly grabbed and shook another passenger while they were trying to exit the toilet. Not cool, right? The airline staff had to call in the Australian Federal Police to handle the situation.

The couple, a 45-year-old guy and a 53-year-old woman, were charged with not following safety instructions and drinking their own alcohol. Those charges could hit them with a hefty fine of up to $13,750.

On top of that, the woman is facing an assault charge, which could land her in jail for up to two years. Yikes! AFP Sergeant Luke Stockwell mentioned that there were over 400 incidents involving drunk passengers at major airports last year. He really stressed how important it is for travelers to behave, especially during the busy holiday season.

He warned that bad behavior not only disrespects other travelers and airport staff but also poses safety risks. The AFP is stepping up patrols at airports to keep things in check. The couple is due in court on Monday, so we’ll see what happens next.
