Port Vila: A heartbreaking situation is unfolding for a young Aussie boy. Liam Lynch’s 14-year-old son, Sean, is stuck in Vanuatu after a massive earthquake hit the area. The Royal Australian Air Force planes, which are helping with evacuations, can’t accommodate wheelchairs. So, Sean, who has cerebral palsy, is left behind.

Sean was there with his mom and grandma when the 7.3-magnitude quake struck. Liam, back in Queensland, shared how his son had to be carried out of their home by his mother and grandmother. The place was a mess, with glass and broken dishes everywhere.

Liam’s been trying to get Sean home before Christmas, but the situation is tough. The earthquake caused serious damage in Port Vila, killing at least 14 people and shutting down the international airport.

With a state of emergency declared, a curfew is in place for the worst-hit areas. Liam expressed his worries, saying it’s not safe for Sean, especially with his disabilities. He just wants his son back home.

While the airport reopened, options for flights are still limited. Many Australians have been evacuated, but Liam feels that vulnerable people like his son have been overlooked in the process.

He’s anxious and unsure when Sean will finally come home. The government has promised more support for the disaster response, but for now, Liam just wants to see his boy safe and sound.
