Ormskirk: A man was arrested after a cyclist lost his life in a hit-and-run on Boxing Day. It’s such a sad situation.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was out riding his Cross XC Range bike when the accident happened. It was just after Christmas, and it’s heartbreaking.

Emergency services got to Dicks Lane quickly, but sadly, the cyclist was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

Authorities haven’t released his name yet, but they’ve expressed their condolences to his family during this tough time.

They’ve arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and being unfit to drive due to alcohol or drugs.

Even with the arrest, police are still asking anyone who might have information to step forward. They really want to get to the bottom of this.

Investigators are particularly interested in anyone who might have seen or recorded a Kia Sportage in the area that night.

Sergeant Chris Evans from the road policing unit shared his thoughts, saying it’s devastating that someone lost their life. He’s urging anyone with info or footage to reach out to the police.
