Liverpool: So, Arne Slot was really happy with how Rio Ngumoha played in his first match for the team. The kid made his debut against Accrington Stanley, and wow, did he impress!
At just 16 years old, Ngumoha became the youngest player to start for Liverpool. He got the nod because Federico Chiesa was sick, but he totally made the most of it.
In the first half, he was on fire! He made some great runs down the left side and attempted seven dribbles, which was more than anyone else on the team. The crowd loved his style and cheered him on.
After the game, Slot couldn’t stop talking about how well Ngumoha did. He mentioned that the young player has been training with the team for half a season and has shown his skills every time.
Slot said Ngumoha is quick, can change direction easily, and really knows how to handle one-on-one situations. He was thrilled that the fans got to see what he can do on the pitch.
It was a special day for Ngumoha, making his debut and helping the team win 4-0. He played for 72 minutes before being subbed off for Jayden Danns, who scored the third goal.
Ngumoha joined Liverpool from Chelsea last summer and has mostly played with the Under-18s. He’s also been in the FA Youth Cup and the Uefa Youth League, so this debut was a big step up for him!
