London: Recent tests show that body armour used by British forces doesn’t stop bullets. This shocking news has raised serious safety concerns.

Defence chiefs have ordered a major recall after discovering cracks in the supposedly bullet-proof plates. These flaws were found in the Enhanced Combat Body Armour.

Troops are now at risk as military leaders scramble to find replacements. The plates have been in use since the 1980s, and plans to replace them were delayed to save money.

Currently, the Army, Navy, and RAF have over 120,000 sets of this body armour. Every plate is being recalled for testing, and so far, one in ten has failed.

Some troops can switch to other kits, but Royal Marine Commandos and sailors can’t use them due to weight concerns. Armed Forces minister Luke Pollard emphasized the need for safety in a letter to military chiefs.

The use of these plates was supposed to end in 2023, but budget cuts have delayed that plan. The Ministry of Defence has suspended the use of these plates except in unavoidable situations.
