Teesside: A family faced a nightmare when an armed gang invaded their home. It was a night filled with chaos and fear. The attackers left a man with serious injuries while his partner’s kids hid under a table, terrified.
This all went down on October 30, 2024, after a dispute earlier that day. The court heard how the gang, led by Shannon Harbron, returned to the house after an argument. They were armed with baseball bats and a golf club, ready to cause havoc.
As they smashed windows and assaulted the homeowner’s partner, the kids were left in a state of panic. The victim was outside and got beaten badly, suffering a head injury that needed 14 staples. Inside, the children were scared, and the partner tried to protect them by throwing plates out the window.
Witnesses saw the gang arrive in a red Astra, with one man swinging a weapon out the window. It was pure chaos as they charged the house. The victim was brutally attacked, and the kids were left hiding, feeling helpless.
Video footage showed the attackers in action, with one hitting the victim with a pole while others smashed the property. Eventually, the victim managed to get inside but collapsed from his injuries. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Later that night, police caught up with the gang and found weapons in their car. Harbron had an injury but refused to cooperate. The others were arrested, and the court later described the attack as a revenge act.
All four attackers pleaded guilty. They received various sentences, with the judge condemning the premeditated violence and its impact on the victims, especially the children. It was a shocking reminder of how quickly things can turn violent.
