Watford: A trio of boys showed up at Thames Magistrates’ Court recently, facing serious charges. They’re accused of planning to swipe 32 iPhones from the Apple Store at the Atria Watford shopping center.
Two of the boys, both 17, are from Lambeth and Colliers Wood. Their names are kept secret due to their age. After their plea, they got conditional bail until their next court date.
They can’t go back to Watford or step foot in any Apple store in the UK while they wait. The third boy, who’s 18, will be in St Albans Crown Court soon to enter his plea.
This isn’t the first time trouble has brewed at Apple stores. Just a few days earlier, five teens were charged after 50 phones were stolen from the Brent Cross store.
Police arrested six teens, aged 14 to 18, on suspicion of robbery. It’s a wild situation, and it seems like these stores are becoming hotspots for theft.
One of the accused, Mycah Omo-Idahosa, 18, from Lambeth, is also facing robbery charges and will be in court soon. Alongside him, two 15-year-olds from Lambeth, a 14-year-old from Croydon, and a 16-year-old from Cambridge are all in the same boat.
One other 15-year-old was arrested but has been released on bail while the investigation continues. It’s a lot of drama for these young folks.
