Over the past month, police and FACT have been on the hunt for people who are giving out unauthorized access to premium TV content. They’ve been looking into illegal IPTV operators from places like Essex to Dundee, and many have received official warnings.
These warnings were delivered in person, by mail, and even by email. The message is clear: stop the illegal activity or face the music. This operation has covered a lot of ground, reaching areas like London, the West Midlands, and even Scotland.
They’ve also seized a bunch of digital devices and Fire Sticks that were loaded with illegal content. These are now being examined closely. Sky has been busy too, working to take down listings and social media posts that promote these illegal subscriptions.
During this crackdown, they’ve managed to wipe out over 3,000 of these illegal ads from platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The goal is to shut down these illegal services and protect the rights of broadcasters.
Kieron Sharp, the CEO of FACT, emphasized the serious consequences of getting involved in these activities. He thanked the police for their help, especially units from Cheshire and Nottinghamshire.
He also pointed out that the rise of illegal IPTV operators using modified Fire Sticks is a big worry. It’s not just about breaking the law; it’s about hurting the creators and distributors who deserve to get paid for their work.
