Kansas City: The Chiefs have had a bit of a rollercoaster ride at left tackle this season. But things started to look up when Joe Thuney moved over from left guard late in the year.

D.J. Humphries was brought in to take on the role, but he faced a setback with a hamstring injury during the Week 14 game against the Chargers. He finally returned in Week 18, playing a big part in that game.

Even though Andy Reid has probably made up his mind about who will start at left tackle, he kept that info under wraps during his Thursday press conference.

Reid mentioned, “I’m going to do the same thing. I’ve taken it this far. I’ll talk to the coaches and see where we’re at, but they’ve both done a nice job.” Sounds like he’s pleased with both players.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has had his share of frustrations with the offensive line this season, and his opinion matters to Reid. “Listen, [Mahomes] likes both guys,” Reid said. “He trusts them, and I keep that in mind.”

In Week 16, the Chiefs took down the Texans 27-19 with Thuney holding down the left tackle spot. It seems like they’re finding their groove just in time.
