Redbridge: So, guess what? Almost 700 new homes are on the way in Redbridge! The council just gave the green light for this big project on a former tip site. It’s all part of a plan to revamp the area.

Bellway, the developer, is looking to build a mix of apartments and houses. They’re planning 153 homes on one part and 539 on another. They’re calling it Kingsgate Park, and it sounds pretty exciting!

Out of those homes, 159 will be affordable, which is great news for locals. They’re making sure there are options for everyone, including some for shared ownership and affordable rent.

Will Weston-Smith from Bellway mentioned they’ve worked closely with the council to make sure this development meets the community’s needs. It’s not just about homes; they’re also planning community spaces and commercial units.

Plus, they’re focusing on being eco-friendly. The homes will use electric heating and low-carbon technologies to keep their impact on the environment low. Sounds like a win-win!

They’re also planning to improve local bus services and create green spaces, including parks and areas for wildlife. It’s all about making the neighborhood vibrant and welcoming.

And here’s the cherry on top: Bellway is set to contribute over £11.4 million to improve local infrastructure. That means more jobs and apprenticeships during construction, which is fantastic for the community.

Construction is expected to kick off in spring 2025, so keep an eye out for updates!
