Raglan: Plans are in for pruning four trees in the area. Kenneth Baker from Barton Bridge Close wants to reduce two apple trees’ crowns by 40%.

A Scots pine will be trimmed to lower the risk of failure. An alder tree will be cut back by 3-4 meters, and two ash trees will have their height reduced by 5 meters. Dennis Walker and Son Tree Services will handle the work.

The Narth: An oak tree next to Manor Wood Cottage is set for crown thinning and reduction. Wayne Moore submitted the application, which was approved. This tree is protected, so any work needs special permission.

The plan includes removing some branches for more light and reducing the tree’s canopy size. This follows a similar application from 2018.

Chepstow: A resident plans to remove two overgrown conifer trees from his garden. Charles Mann from Hardwick Avenue submitted the application to take down two trees that dominate the area and hang over into a neighbor’s yard.

The third conifer will have its crown reduced, and two apple trees will also be thinned. Monmouthshire County Council will decide on this application.

Rogiet: A building alteration has been approved for a home at 26 Ifton Road. Michael Davies submitted the application to change the rear extension by replacing existing hips with two gable walls.

This is a minor change and won’t significantly affect the building’s appearance. The application was validated on January 27.

Caldicot: A homeowner has applied for a single-storey extension at 17 Tennyson Road. Mr. Adam Nelson wants to remove a carport and garage to build the extension.

This application is currently being processed by Monmouthshire County Council as a ‘Fast Track Householder’ application.
