Scotland: Six areas are at risk of a snow bomb this weekend. Temperatures could drop to -5C. Maps show where snow will fall next week.

In Scotland, places like Portree, Fort William, and Glasgow might see 8cm of snow. This could happen on February 8 and 9. Brian Gaze from The Weather Outlook says a colder spell is coming.

He mentions that high pressure over Scandinavia will push cold winds our way. Even though days are getting longer, mid-February is often the coldest time in the UK.

Southern Britain might face the worst of the weather this time. This is different from January when the north got hit hard.

The forecast from Netweather TV shows temperatures will be below normal. Coastal areas in north-east Scotland could be 1C below average, while south-west England might be 3C below normal.

Most of the UK is expected to be drier than usual. However, some areas in eastern Scotland and north-east England might see average rainfall.

Sunshine will be below normal in many regions, especially in eastern England. But western Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland may enjoy more sunshine than usual.
