Slaidburn: Have you heard about the amazing planetary alignment happening soon? It’s a big deal! You’ll be able to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn all at once. How cool is that?

If you want to catch this celestial show, East Lancashire has some great spots. There are two Dark Sky Discovery Sites in Slaidburn and Gisburn Forest. Plus, you can check out Beacon Fell Country Park and Crook O’Lune Picnic Site in the Forest of Bowland.

These sites are recognized for their dark skies, making them perfect for stargazing. You can see the Milky Way and constellations without the city lights getting in the way.

During this planetary alignment, the planets will line up beautifully in the night sky. It’s a rare sight, especially when they follow the ecliptic path traced by the sun.

Throughout the month and into February, you’ll see the planets forming an arc across the sky. On clear nights, all the planets except Mercury will be visible, creating a stunning planetary parade.

Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will shine brightly, while Mars will look like a little orange dot. If you have a telescope, you can even spot Uranus and Neptune joining the party!

And mark your calendars for February 28! If the weather cooperates, Mercury will make an appearance, allowing you to see all seven planets at once. Don’t miss out!
