Birmingham: So, you know those frozen chicken and cheese taquitos from Aldi? Well, they’ve been recalled. It’s a bummer for fans of quick Mexican snacks.

The recall happened after a customer reported a dental injury while eating one. Another person even found a piece of metal in their taquito. Yikes! The USDA stepped in and announced that nearly 25,000 pounds of these taquitos might be contaminated.

These taquitos were sold in Aldi stores all over the country. The USDA said they found out about the issue after the company got complaints from customers. It’s a serious deal when metal shows up in food.

Luckily, there haven’t been more reports of injuries or illnesses. But if you’re worried about it, it’s best to check in with a doctor.

FSIS is urging anyone who bought these taquitos to toss them out or return them for a refund. They want to make sure no one else gets hurt.

The affected taquitos are labeled ‘CASA MAMITA CHICKEN & CHEESE TAQUITOS’ and were made on specific dates in July and September 2024. They weigh 20 ounces and have a certain establishment number on the packaging.

Aldi mentioned that these products were sold in a bunch of states, including Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, among others. They’re really focused on keeping their customers safe.

If you have these taquitos, Aldi suggests you get rid of them or take them back for a full refund. They’re also available for any questions or concerns you might have about the recall.

Good news for folks in the UK, though—this recall doesn’t affect them at all.
