Carluke: An Aldi customer found something shocking in her tin of stewed steak. Maggie Duncan, 62, said it looked like a bumhole. She discovered it while preparing her meal on January 8.

Maggie noticed the inch-long object as she poured the £2.09 meal into a container. Her husband was equally horrified, saying it resembled a chicken’s anus. They were both sickened by the find.

Aldi apologized, explaining that gristle-like material can occasionally appear in meat products. Maggie agreed that some gristle is normal but felt this was unacceptable.

Social media users had a field day, joking about the object. One asked, “What in the bushtucker trial are you playing at Aldi?” referencing a popular show where celebrities eat strange foods.

Maggie bought the stewed steak in November, and it had a best-before date of 2026. She refused to serve it to her dogs, saying it wasn’t fit for human consumption.

She planned to return the tin to Aldi for an explanation. Maggie shared her experience online, warning others to check their food before eating.

Her post went viral, gathering over 250 likes and comments. Many were shocked and amused, with one saying, “Ooooh a bumhole!!”

Aldi responded, asking Maggie to return the product for a full investigation. They reiterated that such occurrences are very rare.
