Mumbai: So, Sanjay Raut just dropped a bombshell. He claims that the Ajit Pawar-led NCP is trying to convince some MPs from the rival faction to jump ship. Apparently, they’re offering some pretty tempting deals, like spots in the union cabinet.
This all came to light after NCP leader Amol Mitkati mentioned that a few Lok Sabha members from Sharad Pawar’s NCP were chatting with Ajit Pawar, the deputy Chief Minister. Sounds like some serious political maneuvering is going on!
Then there’s Jitendra Awhad, an MLA from the rival NCP faction, who said that Sunil Tatkare, the state chief of Ajit’s NCP, was urging their MPs to ditch the “father and daughter” duo. That’s a pretty bold move, right?
Raut also pointed out that senior NCP leaders like Praful Patel and Tatkare are on a mission to pull off these defections. Right now, Ajit’s NCP has just one Lok Sabha MP, while the rival faction boasts eight. They really need to make some moves if they want to gain power.
Raut made it clear that unless they can snag some members from Sharad Pawar’s side, they won’t be getting any positions in the Union government. It’s all about numbers in politics, after all.
When asked if the two factions might reunite, Awhad was skeptical. He pointed out that if they were really considering coming together, why would Tatkare be trying to lure their MPs away? It seems like there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
And just to clarify, Tatkare’s “father-daughter” comment was aimed at Sharad Pawar and his daughter, Supriya Sule. It’s getting a bit personal, don’t you think?
Awhad also suggested that the rumors about the two factions reuniting might be a tactic to pressure BJP ally Nitish Kumar. It’s all about sending messages in the political game.
