Sheboygan: Big things are happening at the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum! They’re rolling out some cool new exhibits this year.
The museum is updating its mission and branding to kick off 2025. They’ve partnered with local marketing folks to give their logo a fun, colorful makeover.
Each color in the new logo stands for a value they want to promote, like learning and fun. Cate Tinker, the executive director, says it’s all about sparking curiosity and joy through play.
Coming up, they’ll open a music exhibit in February and a play veterinary clinic this fall. Kids will get to dress up as vets and care for stuffed animals. How fun is that?
They’re also working with the Humane Society to make the clinic even better. The museum has three floors, each focusing on different themes like nature and community.
Recently, they added some neat STEAM exhibits, including a Sunshine Pin Screen and Pegboard Play, thanks to a local high school student’s project.
ABCM collaborates with over 100 community partners, including schools and nonprofits, to create engaging programs and exhibits.
They’re also chatting with the Latinx community about a new Culture Exchange Exhibit that will highlight the Mexican immigrant experience in Sheboygan.
On the family-friendly front, they’re hosting a Sweetheart Social in February, where kids can make Valentine’s cards. They’re really focused on creating safe, fun spaces for families, especially during the chilly Wisconsin winters.
There’s also a Taproom Takeover fundraiser coming up at a local brewery, which sounds like a blast!
Lastly, there are some changes in leadership at the museum, with new folks stepping into key roles on the Board of Directors.
