Nottingham: The A52 roundabout by Queen’s Medical Centre will close again next weekend. This closure is for bridge repairs and will start at 8 PM on Friday, February 7. It will last until 6 AM on Monday, February 10.

There’s a backup date for the following weekend to install a new bridge beam. This comes after closures on the A6514 Middleton Boulevard under the QMC roundabout this weekend.

Traffic will be diverted using the slip roads around the roundabout. National Highways previously closed the roundabout for repairs on January 25 and 26.

This roundabout is a key route to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. The damage happened in 2018 when a lorry hit a beam while carrying an excavator.

Here are the road closures you should know about:

  • A52 eastbound from Priory roundabout to QMC roundabout
  • QMC roundabout between the A6514 Middleton Boulevard northbound entry slip road and southbound exit slip road
  • A6514 Middleton Boulevard northbound entry slip road
  • A6514/A52 between Clifton Boulevard exit and entry slip roads and Middleton Boulevard exit/entry slip roads

Also, lane one of the northern bridge remains closed 24/7. National Highways has set up diversions to ease traffic congestion. They advise drivers to allow extra time for their journeys.

Expect these diversions to be in place during the closures.
