Newtown: So, guess what? Starting tonight, the A303 is going to be closed overnight for some resurfacing work. National Highways is on it, but it means the road will be shut down for a bit.

They’re planning to do this in a mix of weeknight closures and two full weekends. The work kicks off this evening and will run through the week. Don’t worry, though; the road will be open during the day and on weekends.

For the weeknight closures, they’ll be working from 8 PM to 6 AM. It’s going to take about ten nights to finish up. Just keep in mind that access to properties within the closure will still be available.

Now, for the full weekend closures, they’ll be working around the clock. The first one starts on Friday, January 24, and goes until Monday morning. The second one is the following weekend. So, if you’re planning to travel, you might want to find another route.

They’ve got a diversion set up, so you won’t be completely stuck. Just follow the signs through Stooper’s Hill and Combe Beacon Lane to the A30.

National Highways mentioned that weather could affect their schedule, so if it rains heavily, they might need to extend the work. They’re asking everyone to plan ahead and allow extra time for your trips.

They really want to keep the hassle to a minimum, but they’re sorry in advance for any inconvenience. So, if you’re out and about, just keep an eye on the road signs!
