North Conway: Paul Murray talks about his son Jack, who was a true light in their lives. Jack, just 12, had a skiing accident on Cranmore Mountain and sadly didn’t make it.

It’s tough for Paul and the family to put their feelings into words, but they’re focusing on the joy Jack brought to their lives. Paul shared, “Jack was a constant bright spot.”

Jack was fearless and loved life. He played trombone and drums in the school band and had a knack for entrepreneurship, selling cookies and thrift items online.

“He packed more into 12 years than most do in a lifetime,” Paul said. They’re trying to hold onto the love and brightness Jack shared with everyone.

Jack made a big impact on those around him. A family friend, Angela, said, “To know Jack is to know a celebrity. He was bigger than life.”

Connor Fitzgerald, an 8th grader who rode the bus with Jack, mentioned how quiet it’s been without him. “It’s not the same without you dude,” he said, remembering Jack’s kindness.

In Jack’s honor, his classmates created a memorial TikTok page and wore blue, his favorite color. A GoFundMe has also been set up to support the school band he loved.

It’s clear Jack’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
