Sheffield: So, it turns out about 50 folks have been banned from the city’s leisure centres and libraries. The reasons? Well, some were caught watching porn, while others were involved in racial abuse. Not cool, right?

According to info from the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the number of bans is pretty low considering Sheffield sees millions of visitors each year. The council wants everyone to know that their facilities are safe for everyone.

Out of those banned, around 40 were from leisure centres and about 16 from libraries. The reasons for these bans include aggressive behavior, non-payment, and even vandalism. It’s a mixed bag of issues.

For libraries, some were banned for anti-social behavior, and a few for racially abusing a security guard. Others were just browsing inappropriate sites on library computers. Yikes!

Cllr Kurtis Crossland, who’s in charge of parks and leisure, mentioned that with millions visiting these places, the numbers of bans are quite small. He reassured everyone that the facilities are safe for both staff and visitors.

Sheffield Council is serious about keeping things in check. They work closely with local police and have security teams ready to step in if needed. Plus, staff are trained to handle tricky situations, which is a big plus.

They’ve got CCTV everywhere and a strict no-aggression policy. If things get out of hand, they can call in extra security. It’s all about keeping the environment friendly and safe for everyone.

So, if you’re in Sheffield, you can feel pretty secure while enjoying the leisure centres and libraries. Just remember to play nice!
