San Francisco: The 49ers are in a bit of a pickle with their running backs. Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Isaac Guerendo sprained his foot during the game against the Bears.

With the Rams coming up on Thursday, it’s a tight squeeze to see if Guerendo can play. They’ll be keeping a close eye on him over the next few days.

Even though the injury seems minor, the 49ers are already in a tough spot. They just put their starting running back, Christian McCaffrey, on injured reserve last week. McCaffrey hinted on social media that he might be done for the season, which is a bummer.

McCaffrey only played four games this season due to injuries. Jordan Mason, who stepped in for him, is also out with a high ankle sprain. So, Guerendo was the last man standing, and he did pretty well, scoring two touchdowns and racking up 78 rushing yards against the Bears.

After the game, Guerendo seemed optimistic, saying everything was fine and that they were just being cautious. But if he can’t go, Patrick Taylor Jr. will likely take his place. He had a decent game too, with a touchdown and 25 yards.

The 49ers really need a win against the Rams to keep their playoff hopes alive. If Guerendo can’t play, it’s going to be a tough road ahead for them.
