San Francisco: So, Brock Purdy just made some serious waves in the NFL. Even though the 49ers are having a rough season, he managed to break a record that had Patrick Mahomes in the rearview mirror.

In a wild game against the Detroit Lions, Purdy threw three touchdowns, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing. He had a couple of second-half interceptions that really hurt. Still, he ended up with a passer rating of 116.0, which is pretty impressive.

This season, he’s now got the most games with two or more touchdowns and a passer rating of at least 115.0 in his first three seasons. He’s got 15 of those games, beating Mahomes, who had 14. That’s a big deal!

Purdy also set a personal best with 377 passing yards in that game. He completed 27 out of 35 passes, averaging 10.8 yards per throw. He’s climbing the ranks in 49ers history, passing some big names like Alex Smith and Jeff Garcia.

But, of course, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. He hurt his elbow in the fourth quarter, which means he won’t be playing in the last game of the season. It’s a bummer, especially since he’s eligible for a big contract extension this offseason.

Despite the ups and downs, it’s clear that Purdy has made his mark in San Francisco. He’s done enough to make NFL history, and that’s something to celebrate, even in a tough season.
