San Francisco: So, Brock Purdy had to leave the game against the Lions early because of an elbow injury. It happened when he got sacked in the last few minutes. Ouch!
After the game, Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that Purdy is dealing with a nerve issue in his throwing elbow. That’s not good news, especially with their last game of the season coming up.
Purdy was having a solid game, throwing for 377 yards and three touchdowns before the injury. But when he got hit, he landed awkwardly on his wrist and looked like he was in a lot of pain.
He tried to shake it off on the sidelines, but it was clear he couldn’t throw properly. So, they brought in backup Joshua Dobbs to finish the game. Dobbs did score a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to win.
The Lions ended up winning 40-34, which puts them at 14-2 for the season. They’re gearing up for a big matchup against the Vikings next week.
As for the 49ers, they’re out of the playoff race and will finish last in the NFC West. They’ve got a game against the Cardinals next week, but all eyes are on Purdy’s injury.
He’s set to undergo more tests soon, and with his rookie contract ending, this offseason is crucial for him. He could be looking at a contract extension, but with his recent struggles and this injury, it’s hard to say what the 49ers will do.
It’s a tough spot for Purdy, especially after leading the team to the Super Bowl last season. Let’s hope he gets back on track soon!
