San Francisco: So, the 49ers were in a tight spot, needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. But then, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell just decided he was done playing. Can you believe that?

After the game, coach Kyle Shanahan shared that Campbell, who’s been with the team for nine years, told them he didn’t want to play anymore. He actually left the field and headed to the locker room during the second half. Talk about a bold move!

Shanahan mentioned that when he asked Campbell why he didn’t want to go back in, Campbell was pretty straightforward about it. It’s wild because Campbell had been a key player, starting most of the games this season. But lately, his playing time had been cut down.

Last week, he was still on the field for over 64% of the defensive snaps. But with Dre Greenlaw returning from an injury, Campbell found himself on the sidelines more. When the team needed him, he just said no. It’s kind of reminiscent of that Vontae Davis situation from a few years back when he walked out at halftime.

Campbell had been doing well this season, racking up 79 tackles. But after this incident, it seems like his time with the 49ers might be coming to an end. What a strange turn of events!
