Miami: So, the 49ers made a move this weekend. They signed linebacker Jalen Graham to fill in for De’Vondre Campbell, who’s been suspended. Campbell, a seasoned player, didn’t want to step in as a backup during a game against the Rams, which led to his suspension for the last three games of the season.
Graham, a rookie from the 2023 draft, has been on the practice squad and has played in five games this season. He’s stepping up as a special-teams player and backup linebacker now. It’s a big chance for him!
They also brought in offensive lineman Austen Pleasants to the active roster for the game against the Dolphins. Pleasants has played in a couple of NFL games before, so he’s got some experience under his belt.
To make space for Pleasants, the 49ers let go of Sebastian Gutierrez, who only played in one game this season. They also promoted running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn and defensive lineman Alex Barrett from the practice squad to help out against Miami.
With rookie Isaac Guerendo out due to injuries, Vaughn is likely to back up Patrick Taylor Jr. Meanwhile, Barrett adds some depth to the defensive line, even though he hasn’t played in a regular-season game since 2020.
Nick Bosa is listed as questionable with some minor injuries but is expected to play. Robert Beal Jr. is also dealing with an ankle issue from practice, so we’ll see how that shakes out.
It’s going to be an interesting game for the 49ers!
