3-year-old boy, his mother killed after truck on KDMC duty runs over them in Kalyan

Kalyan: It’s such a heartbreaking story. A 3-year-old boy and his mom lost their lives after a truck hit them. This happened in the Thane district of Maharashtra on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place near the Dakshin Mukhi Maruti Mandir. They were just crossing the road when the truck, which was carrying debris for the local municipal corporation, came speeding by.

The victims were identified as Nisha Someskar, 35, and her little boy, Ansh. They were on their way home after Ansh finished nursery school. Nisha had just picked him up, and they were crossing the road when tragedy struck.

Witnesses said Nisha thought it was safe to cross since there was no divider. Unfortunately, the truck driver fled the scene right after the accident. Locals quickly called the police, who rushed them to the hospital, but sadly, they were declared dead on arrival.

By the evening, the police managed to trace the truck and apprehend the driver. It’s just so tragic that a simple school run turned into such a devastating loss for the family.
