Salt Lake City: So, it turns out that a second special agent from the Department of Homeland Security in Utah has been charged with some pretty serious stuff. Nicholas Kindle is accused of selling seized drugs back to dealers, which is just wild.

He’s facing federal charges for conspiracy to convert government property and distribute drugs. This all comes after another agent, David Cole, was indicted last December for similar crimes. They were supposed to be fighting the war on drugs, not fueling it!

According to court documents, these guys used their positions to grab illegal narcotics that were supposed to be kept off the streets. Instead, they sold them for personal gain. It’s shocking to think they were profiting from something they were meant to combat.

The Department of Justice even mentioned that they misled others in their agency, claiming they needed the drugs for legitimate investigations. But instead, they were just lining their pockets with cash from drug sales.

They even had a confidential informant working with them, who was supposed to help with real investigations. But instead, they got the informant to buy drugs and then let him sell them, pocketing the profits. It’s like they were running their own little drug operation!

Investigators believe they made around $195,000 from these illegal sales. And it gets worse—between 2021 and 2024, they allegedly stole evidence meant for legitimate investigations, including cash and even a diamond ring!

It was only when the informant and his lawyer reached out to the U.S. Attorney’s Office that the FBI got involved. They started monitoring these guys and confirmed the allegations. It’s a crazy story that shows how deep corruption can run.
