Valsad: A new bridge has just been completed over NH-48 in Gujarat. This is part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, and it’s pretty exciting!
The bridge is 210 meters long and was finished on January 2, 2025. It’s designed to cross over the busy highway at Vaghaldhara village, which is near Panchlai.
It’s made up of 72 precast segments and was built using a method called the Balanced Cantilever Method. This technique is great for larger spans, making it a solid choice for this project.
There are already two other bridges completed in the Navsari district, which are also crossing NH-48. They measure 260 meters and 210 meters, respectively, and are located between Surat and Bilimora Bullet Train Stations.
The new bridge is positioned between Vapi and Bilimora stations. Since NH-48 is one of the busiest highways in India, the construction was carefully planned to keep everything running smoothly and safely for both drivers and workers.
To ensure safety, extra lanes were added on both sides of the highway. This way, vehicles wouldn’t have to pass under any suspended loads during construction. They also had a traffic diversion plan in place to keep things moving without any major disruptions.
