East London: A year ago, a newborn baby girl was found abandoned, and now the police are offering a £20,000 reward for any info about her parents. The baby, named Elsa, was discovered by a dog walker on January 18 last year, just after she was born.
Despite reviewing over 450 hours of CCTV footage, the parents remain unknown. Authorities believe the mother may have been living in the East London area for the past six years. Elsa was found wrapped in a towel inside a shopping bag, and thankfully, she was unharmed.
Detective Inspector Jamie Humm is leading the investigation and is really concerned about the wellbeing of the mother. He’s asking anyone who might have seen something or knows anything to come forward. It’s believed that someone in the community might have noticed the mother during her pregnancies.
Elsa’s case is not isolated; she has two siblings who were also abandoned in similar situations in the same area. Harry and Roman were found in 2017 and 2019, respectively. They’ve since been adopted, and Elsa is doing well, too.
The police are working closely with Crimestoppers, and the reward is only available for information given directly to them. If you have any leads, you can contact the police or Crimestoppers anonymously. Every little bit helps, and they’re hoping to find the parents soon.
