Howden: Exciting news for the folks in Howden! The town is about to get a nice boost with a £135,000 road improvement project kicking off this month. The East Riding of Yorkshire Council is all set to enhance a section of the B1230 Selby Road.

The work will start on Monday, January 20, and it’s expected to take about four weeks. They’ll be focusing first on putting in new kerbing while managing traffic signals. After that, they’ll dive into resurfacing the road starting February 3.

To keep things running smoothly, there will be some temporary road closures during the day. But don’t worry, they’ll make sure to wrap things up by 5pm. They’re also planning a signed diversion for traffic, so you won’t be left in the lurch.

Councillor Paul West, who’s in charge of environment and transport, expressed gratitude to residents and drivers for their patience during this important work. It’s all about making the road into Howden better for everyone!

The council’s own road maintenance team will handle the project as part of their planned improvements. So, get ready for a smoother ride soon!
