Chicago: The National Weather Service is predicting a clipper system will bring some snow to the area. We’re looking at about one to three inches Thursday afternoon. Sounds like winter is really kicking in!

They mentioned there’s a 40 percent chance of snow in parts of north central and northeast Illinois, plus northwest Indiana. So, if you’re in those areas, keep an eye out!

Snow is expected to start Thursday afternoon and continue into the evening, especially north of Interstate 80. Near the Wisconsin border, you might see up to an inch of snow. And guess what? More snow showers could pop up late Thursday night.

This clipper system is moving down from the Northern plains, bringing heavy snow from Minnesota through northern Wisconsin. So, it’s definitely going to be a snowy day!

On Thursday, we might see some rain mixed with snow, with a high of around 31 degrees. But later, there’s a 90 percent chance of snow, and we could get another 1 to 2 inches overnight.

And just to keep the snow theme going, more snow showers are expected Friday morning. So, if you have plans, you might want to bundle up!

As for the current weather, O’Hare International Airport is sitting at a chilly 28 degrees, while Midway Airport is a bit warmer at 30 degrees. Stay warm out there!
